Crest and motto

Crest

On May 5, 1978, the first design for a crest was offered for approval. In 1979 this design — slightly altered — was approved.

The crest consists of a golden diode positioned between two golden wings over a red background. The diode is an electronic component that at a certain voltage level will conduct current. This voltage symbolizes the request of the RNLAF units for the products of the Electronic Matériel Depot — knowledge and serviceable parts. The conduct of current symbolizes the flow of parts and technical personnel between the depot and the RNLAF units.

The wings symbolize the Air Force of which the depot — here symbolized by the diode — is a part. The color gold symbolizes conquering power.
