Gave up on Flickr

I have just canceled my Pro subscription. It was scheduled to renew in two days from now. I also deleted almost all of my thousands of photos from the service, most of which were set to friends and/or family.

Deleting a batch. Being sarcastic, Flickr?

With the birth of our first child I saw it as a nice way to share full-size photos with immediate family. Soon I discovered that having public family photos attracts all sorts of strange individuals with dubious intentions. So I made most photos private.

There seems to be less of a community spirit than there once was. The future of the service seems a bit murky and I don't see the point in sticking around. For now, I will leave my account intact and I will leave some photos up.
