Guess the baby's vitals

Update December 13: Looks like nobody guessed the date right, including me. Petra was dead on with the length and Barb was closest with the weight (Sophie was 19" and weighs 5-15).

The baby's calculated due date is December 6. There is no prize to be won, just bragging rights.

Janny denkt: 3 december, gewicht 6 pond en 3 ons en lengte 49 à 50 cm. No idea of the english ones.

I used 49.5 cm which I rounded off to 19.5".

I say my baby will be 7lbs.02oz and 16.5" ........a very small yet healthy baby!!

how do I put my numbers on the chart?

Flower power

I have to enter it manually, just did.

Petra's guess: Date is December 8 - Weight is 7 pond (lbs that for me please) and the lenght will be 19" (what's that in cm? Cause it's only a guess: this wasn't mentioned and eh... what do I know about babies?!) :-)

Thanks, I added it. 19" = 48.26 cm.

I actually forgot to convert the weight. Google says 500 grams = 1.10231131 pounds, which is 7.71617917 lbs which is 7 lbs 11oz. Probably close enough.

I converted the weight wrong. I had it entered as 6lbs 3oz but that's incorrect. It should be: 3300 grams = 7.27525465 pounds = 7lbs 4oz.

Sjeez, those silly Europeans, all consistently metric and all. At least here we like a challenge and happily mix imperial with metric. :-)

My guess for baby is December 5. Weight 6lb 12 oz. Length 18"

Thanks, Barb, just added yours.

By the way, you would think I should be "in the know" but afterward it will be hilarious to see how wrong I was. :-)

November 29, 7lbs 13oz and 17.75"

Thanks, Shannon!

Perhaps Tanya knows!

It is not easy guessing the weight! The last ultrasound about a week ago was intended as a quick confirmation on the baby's position and didn't really give us that kind of info.

Deanna is out of competition now. Am I the next one?

Shannon is out too.

Tomorrow will probably be the last regular scheduled visit to the obstetrician. After that, it's anyone's guess... I am getting anxious and I know Tanya is too!

I understand

With only ten minutes to go, I think you are out to, no grand child on December 3...

I'm out also:-))

It was almost impossible in just ten minutes.

maybe on the 5 or the 8th who knows now?? she loves to be late...

Baby will be welcome regardless of they day, even during this blizzard. :-)

who will be the next!

December 4 came and went. Sorry, Rose, Vince, and Ken!

Perhaps mammy and daddy know!

I doubt it.

Plus, there still is the weight and length to guess too. :-)

She keeps us busy:-))

OK, so December 5 came and went. Barb, Tanya and I were wrong on the date!

Just Petra and Neil in the race!

Yup, and then we will see who has the weight and length right. :-)

Given that these are the worst blizzard conditions I have ever seen here (yesterday we had 4 foot snow drifts on the road) I sincerely hope that baby decides that it's not time yet!

Come to think of it, my guess of the 5th was more wishful than rational thinking. No signs yet!

Perhaps you have to wait till tuesday ( is that dinsdag?)

when the baby is waiting, Rose and Neil and Deanna make a good change about the weight:-))

Tuesday, December 8, we have another scheduled appointment with the obstetrician. I am not worried, everything looked very good last time and there is no reason to believe that has changed. Waiting is always difficult! (And I can only imagine how anxious Tanya is.)

Yes, that's true and she is doing very good I think!!!

And Petra lost December 8, sorry to disappoint you sis. :-)

Tanya is doing some Christmas shopping and invariably doing some walking. She reported that the baby is very active.

That's a good sign, keep those movements coming, baby... It's time to show yourself to the world!

The more restless both are now, the sooner it will happen, most of the time.

Yup, I believe that being active is the better option for now to get ready for Saturday... or earlier. I know that we are all three so ready for it now.

And with only 13 minutes remaining the baby is also not going to come today. Sorry Neil. :-)

That leaves the guess for the weight/length.

The baby is that kind of "I do it my way" :-))

OK, will today be the day?

Or perhaps tomorrow.

Unless something happens tonight it doesn't appear to be happening today either...

This afternoon, Tanya exhibited some symptoms of early labor. So maybe today is the day?

Let's hope.

Yup. Looks the process has started. No rushing to the hospital yet. Depending on the road conditions (there is more snow coming) we may have to opt for Olds. The county roads here are not all that good.

thats a pity.

In case of emergency, you can ask the friends.

No need, I understood.

Not the weight or the date but I guessed the length correct!!
Thank you, what do I win? :-) Oh no, no prizes.

December 12, Sophie Elizabeth Planken was born. She weighed 5 lbs 15 oz and measured 19 inches.

Looks like Barb was closest with the weight, 6lbs 12oz.

Looks like Petra guessed the length: 19".

Thanks for participating, it was all for fun.
