Flickr photo privacy decision

With increasing frequency I am added as someone's contact on Flickr. Upon closer inspection it often is someone who has very little to show for in the photo stream, but has tons of pictures of toddlers and babies favored, and has an extensive contact list of the owners of those photos. I can only imagine what nefarious purpose that may serve.

Of course, I block these individuals, but it made me rethink my privacy strategy.

In general, I have set the photo privacy to "public", including the photos of my daughters. There are many friends and relatives who aren't on Flickr and I wanted them to be able to see the photos.

But as of today I have changed the privacy setting on all of the photos of Sophie and Sarah to "friends" (some "family"). And I added most of my existing contacts (most of them I know via other social networks) to the "friends" category.

It was probably a matter of time before I had to do this anyway.
