Kosovo rejects territory swap suggested by Serbia

According to Serbian and Kosovo newspapers, Serbia plans to offer Kosovo a part of southern Serbia with a majority Albanian population, in exchange for northern Kosovo. At the same time Serbia would end opposing UN membership by Kosovo.
Kosovo's prime minister Hashim Thaci immediately dismissed any possibility of new talks on the status of Kosovo. He was quoted as saying: "the question of the political status (of Kosovo) is forever closed."
