Council of Europe hindered in organ harvesting probe

The Council of Europe wanted to question an Albanian family regarding the Serbian accusation that organs were removed from kidnapped Serbs in 1999. The Katuci family refused to meet with the team and Albanian officials. Villagers from Rripe blocked the delegation in a two-hour standoff.

In 2004, UN investigators found some evidence but were refused to dig up graves in a nearby cemetery. The case was later dropped for a lack of evidence.
