Vulnerability in Adobe Reader 9

Adobe published a security advisory to warn for a critical buffer overflow vulnerability in Adobe Reader and Acrobat 9 (and earlier).

The vulnerability could cause Reader to crash and potentially allow a system to be taken over.

Adobe expects a fix for Reader 9 by March 11, 2009.

As always, you should exercise caution when opening attachments.

Symantec recommended disabling JavaScript. In Reader, go to edit, preferences and select the category JavaScript. Clear the check box Enable Acrobat JavaScript.
